The run to victory

Oxford Group of Institutions recently organised the 'Oxford Marathon 2016'. The event was held as part of the Oxford College of Engineering NSS initiative.

The event was held at Oxford College of Engineering and presided over by the Oxford Group of Institutions chairman S N V L Narasimharaju. It was conducted by the MBA department under the guidance of Dr Sarit Kumar.

It was a 5-km-run and a 10- km turnaround run from Oxford College Of Engineering, Bommanahalli campus to Oxford College Of Science and Management, HSR Layout.

The event was flagged off by Harpal Singh Soki. Counsellor at the HSR Layout campus Gurumurthy Reddy and governing council member of Oxford Institutions Mudde Gowda were also present on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, Harpal Singh Soki reminisced about his college days and said that he would also run the marathon.

The marathon started with a 15-minute warmup session conducted by members from The Art of Living Foundation. Yoga practitioners Apoorva (faculty member at PES university), Dilip (faculty at NIFT) and Thanya (who works for Russian Railways) were invited to guide the participants.

Around 1,200 participants took part in the event. Winners from all the categories — '5k women', '5k men', '10k women' and '10k men' — were felicitated on the occasion.Oxford Group of Institutions recently organised the 'Oxford Marathon 2016’.
